Participants will learn from our experienced panelists how to go about optimising their websites to improve website ranking on search engines.

Panelists will highlight how to use blogging tools associated with WordPress to grow their website traffic, increase site accessibility, and site speed to boost SEO.

Practical session

Both teams will apply the knowledge earned from the earlier session to build a WordPress blog with full content.

WordPress Security, Themes, & using WordPress as a Web Framework

The panelists will look at the Power of WordPress in comparison with Web Development Frameworks. Strength, Limitations and Opportunities.

They will also talk about how to find the perfect theme for your projects, the problems users face and the solutions to these problems.

Security will not be left out as this is a most important aspect of WordPress. They will share WordPress security checklists every user should know about and how to ensure your site is safe from hackers.

On Mastering Remote Work, Giving Back to WordPress, and Growing Your Network

The idea that people from every corner of the globe can come together to exchange ideas and build products that profoundly affect our lives is as crazy as it is exciting. Our Panelists are employees working for remote companies, and have been doing this for over a year, they will share with us how to master remote working for effective productivity and how to live your best life while working remotely.

Our Panelists are equally not new to contributing to WordPress, they will share with us why contributing to WordPress would help grow your network and aid you in improving your skills faster than you anticipated.

This is a one hour panel session featuring professionals who run WordPress based businesses either as a freelancer, agency professional or business owner.

They will share their wealth of experience with attendees on how they were able to find their niche, break into the market, and turn profit within the WordPress ecosystem. Participants will learn why credibility is key, and why a website is the #1 tool for building credibility with people who don’t know you.

Talk session: What we can create with wordpress

There will be two concurrent tracks here:

One for those who want to go into writing and blogging: They will all build a blog from scratch with WordPress, upload content and publish.

The second will be for those interested in software development: They will learn about the languages of WordPress development and what they can do with it.

Both teams will learn and practicalize installing WordPress offline and how to find a suitable theme for a project, and upload their site online.

The Lagos WordPress community is having its’ second WordCamp conference today, May 11th 2019.

The theme for this years’ gathering is uplifting local communities and individuals so you will be seeing a lot of new and inspiring spaces in our community.

The keynote speech will be delivered by Matt Adesanya, the Chief Technological Officer of The Workforce Group.

UX Design Process (Sprint)

User Experience is a vast field and understanding the right UX Design process is necessary to achieve the best results when working on digital products/solutions (mobile/web).

This workshop is aimed at teaching participants the UX design process from idea to development.

I expect that at the end of this workshop participants will understand how to conduct user research, develop personas, conduct concept/Idea testing, build wireframes, prototypes and test with representative users.

I am proposing a practical workshop so participants can carry out activities themselves by building a demo digital product in class.

I am optimistic that after this session, participants will become better UX designers and apply the knowledge gained to build better products.
